This outbreeding was planned for quite some time. There are many dogs in both sire and dam pedigree's to admire. Such matings can be an experiment and I am hopeful that with the some of the many good traits that did come through in the puppies will continue on in my line.

Primarily temperament and health of the puppies I breed are both my top priorities whether for show puppies or companions. Lyra as an exceptional temperament as does her litter mates. I am very encouraged by her laid back, quite thoughtful personality. That is not to say she is not her own person - she certainly is. She can be quite a handful and showing her is not as easy at it might look.

At 7 months old the 'penny has dropped' and she is showing herself so much better. I can only hope for some nice awards in future.

Lyra's results, so far, are very encouraging.  There have been a number of quality exhibits in the ring with Lyra through Baby Puppy and Puppy classes. The quality of the class winners of the other breeds both in the Hound Group and Class in Show line up is excellent and any award at group or show level is an honour to win. Lyra is a multi Best in Group winner (BIG-1). She was awarded BIG at the tender age of 7 months and 2 days old and her second BIG at 7 months and 5 days old - what an awesome start to any dogs show career!

The comments for judges both local and international include, excellent front and gait, very typey, self assured Basenji of excellent quality and movement are so encouraging at 7 months.
