Holbrook Show Society 2016, 5 Nov

As I wasn't able to enter the show a little more 'local' to me (in Victoria) today so I had planned the journey up to Southern NSW. To show Lyra of course and also my friends mini smooth dachshund. I've shown him a number of times and have done quite well - he is a nice boy. The show was the Holbrook Show Society 2016 . The judge was Mr Derek Hyde (ACT) he awarded Lyra Best of Breed followed by Best Exhibit in Group, Best Junior in Group and later through to Best Junior in Show. This takes Lyra to the 10 best in groups as one requirement for the title of Supreme Champion. Lyra must now complete the other requirement if 1,000 points.  Really excited with Lyra she continues to do so well under all manner of judges.

Cobram Agricultural Society Show 2016 – 23 Oct

So pleased with Lyra Ch Tambuzi the Secret Society.  I am excited to announce that today at the Cobram Agricultural Society Show 2016 Lyra was awarded her second BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW. Miss Marilyn Hoy (NSW) awarded Lyra Best of Breed. Followed by Best Exhibit in Group, finally all the way through to this wonderful win. Obviously, taking Best Junior in Group and Best Junior in Show awards as well. The best in show line up was exceptional, some multi best in show winners amongst them. This win takes Lyra to 2 Best in Show and 9 Best in Group wins. Such a tremendous results for this young girl.

Historic Maldon Kennel Club 2015 – 3 January

Another warm day. The hound group for the Historic Maldon Kennel Club 2016 show was judged today by hound specialist Mr Keven Summers (Vic). What a fantastic start to the year for this youngster. Very happy that Mr Summers awarded Tambuzi The Secret Society (Lyra) Best of Breed and the in the group specials ring Lyra went on to be awarded her second Best Exhibit in Group (BIG-1) in a matter of 3 days!  Later in the General Specials ring under Miss M Joyce (Vic) Lyra was awarded Best Minor Puppy in Show.

Dogs Victoria New Years Eve Show 2015

The second of two Dogs Victoria Amenities Shows. The Dogs Victoria New Years Eve Show 2015 commenced early evening. It was a truly beautiful warm evening and one that turned out to be very memorable for Tambuzi. Again the evening was spent socialising around the rings catching up with many friends to celebrate our dogs achievements for the past 12 months. Hound specialist Mr Tony Kyman (Vic) was our judge this evening. Dusk is when my dogs wake up to watch the Kangaroo 'migration' through the property. Lyra was on 'almost' her best behaviour and showed very well. She was awarded Best of Breed and went into the Best in Group ring amongst a number of quality dogs. It was a wonderful and most exciting honour for Lyra to be awarded Best Exhibit in Group (BIG-1) and all at the tender age of 7 months and 2 days old. Later as firework displays were going off in the distance Lyra was awarded Best Minor Puppy in Show by general specials judge Mrs Barbara Doyle (Vic). This was a fantastic conclusion to what was an amazing night and a tremendous year for Tambuzi. Well done to Best in Show winner the Old English Sheepdog MBIS Am Ch & Aust Sup Ch Barkshire's Captain America (Imp USA) and Runner Up Best in Show Winner the English Springer Spaniel MBIS BISS Winner Aust Sup Ch Sandicam The Look Of Love and all the other class in show winners.

Maryborough and District 2015 – 12 December

Such a lovely day with friends at Maryborough and District 2015 Championship Show. Great company and great food. The hound group judge was Mr Graeme Missen (Vic) who also officiated for general specials. Mr Missen offered extremely positive comments about Tambuzi The Secret Society (Lyra) whilst she was on the table and during judging. Lyra, just over 6 months, old showed well for her class but didn't gait nearly as well as she can for the bitch challenge. She was awarded reserve bitch challenge over two seasoned champions which is very encouraging. Later Lyra went on to be awarded Best Minor Puppy in Group against some quality exhibits. Finally being awarded Best Minor Puppy in Show! Needless to say this topped of what was a fantastic day.

Belgrave and District Kennel Club Show 2015 – 12 September

Hound specialist Mrs Gwen Ford (Vic) officiated as the hound judge at the Belgrave and District Kennel Club Show 2015. The weather was a little bit cool but Tambuzi The Secret Society (Lyra) did very well in the baby puppy run off handled by Tony Wills she beat her brother Tambuzi The Master of Ascallon (Gus) who performed beautifully at this his first show. Lyra was awarded best baby puppy of breed and then went up against an absolutely stunning line-up (many breeds represented) of babies for best Baby Puppy in Group. So honored that Lyra was awarded Best Baby Puppy In Group against such strong competition. I was happy with that. But Lyra went one better and under General Specials judge Bev Watt (Vic) Lyra was awarded Best Baby Puppy In Show - so wrapped with that!

Basenji Club Victoria Specialty 2014 – 1 March

Property class judge Mr Len Reddie (Redial Basenjis, Australia) placed:

  • Ch Debrak On The Road Again (AI) (Ringo) first place in the prestigious gait class. This is the second consecutive time Ringo has won the gait class at this show. Previously, Ringo was awarded first place by Mr Alan Hunt (Pukkanut Basenjis, Australia).

The Basenji Club Victoria Specialty 2014 breed classes were judged by Mrs Lisa Tyler-Jackson (Shernazar Basenjis, UK). Tambuzi was represented by Ringo, Arthur & Willow. Along with Colleen's Ch Tambuzi The Sherpaof Annapurna (Tobi). Also Lisa's Ch Tambuzi The Rinpocheof Qinghai (Ruby). All with more than respectable results:

  • Ringo was awarded first place in a strong line up of open dogs. He went through to win Opposite Best Open In Show.
  • Tobi was awarded second place in the state bred dog class. This was arguably the most nail biting decision of the show.
  • Arthur was awarded first place in the puppy dog class. He went on to be awarded the reserve dog challenge. And Best Puppy In Show.
  • Ruby was awarded first place in the state bred bitch class. She went on to Opposite State Bred In Show.
  • Willow was awarded second place in the minor puppy bitch class.

The kennel is very honoured with some wonderful critiques.

Congratulations everyone!

Bendigo Kennel Club Show – 7 Feb 2014

We were pleased that this show was held inside a large pavilion given the temperature outside. Hounds were judged by Mr G Markotany. Tambuzi The Sherpaof Annapurna (Tobi)  took the dog challenge and gained the final points he needed to become an Australian Champion - congratulations Tobi and owner/handler Colleen!  Tambuzi Secret of Roan Inish was awarded Runner Up Best of Breed. Willow was later awarded Best Minor Puppy in Group and then under judge Miss B Watt, against quality competition, went through to win Best Minor Puppy In Show. What a fantastic evening we had!

Bendigo Agricultural Show Society – 26 Oct 2013

Mrs Elizabeth Smith (Victoria) officiated judging the Hound Group at this show. The show was held indoors and the babies fared well with the noise of the wood chopping competition at the other end of the pavilion. Tambuzi Tutanekai (Raven) was first in the baby dog class and his sister Tambuzi Secret of Roan Inish (Willow) first in the baby bitch class. Tambuzi The Sherpaof Annapurna (Tobi) took Best of Breed. Willow followed up her previous class in group wins with another Best Baby Puppy in Group. This time she went one better and under respected all breeds judge Mrs Sandra Mashford Willow won Best Baby Puppy in Show. This was Willows 4th best class in group win and 1st best class in show win.
